POP shop members Stephanie Connelly and Walter Newton held an exhibition in our workshop for our first Cowal Open Studios members' pop-up.
Cowal Open Studios is an annual four-day event that gives artists and makers around Cowal the opportunity to open their studio doors and for local people to meet the artists and discover their work in person. There are over 50 artists taking part in the event over the weekend from 26 to 29 September.
“Not all artists have a studio space where they can display their work and open it to the public,” says Hannah Clinch, director of the POP shop. “That’s why we’re excited that Walter and Stephanie turned our workshop into a studio and gallery space, to showcase their work through Cowal Open Studios.”

“I am a Dunoon-based illustrator, who also works in animation and printmaking. I enjoy working both digitally and with physical media, often somewhere in between."

“I am an artist and engineer living with ME/CFS. My meditative abstract paintings and silk prints reflect memories of Cowal’s seascape skies and forest trails.”

Our POP-up kiosk

Not only did we open our garden gates on the Saturday, so you could have another browse before we close up the garden over winter. We also rolled out our POP-up Dunoon Goes POP kiosk so you could buy or taste our soft drink syrups.
