Do you love making sweet preserves, puddings and soft drinks? You’ll love this popular main-crop Victoria rhubarb for its juicy stems and punchy flavour.
Victoria is one of the longest reigning varieties in the UK, named for Queen Victoria in 1837, and boasts a long legacy of being used in culinary creations.
Known for its hardiness and for being easy to grow, Victoria is also bursting with a sweet flavour and a tart punch. The large, thick and red stalks are not too stringy either.
Planting position: prefers full sun. Plant 75cm from other plants
Size: approximately 1m high x 1m wide
Harvesting season: Summer. You can crop Victoria lightly in the first year.
Note, the second rhubarb pictured is not this variety, just one of our Dunoon Goes POP growers showing us their lovely rhubarb harvest!
